Energy savings tips from Terese

Are Energy costs making an impact?
Householders know that energy costs are rising, and many are concerned about what impact this will have on the cost of living. Terese Packer, resident financial coach at TCC says, “It’s a good idea to check your energy provider and see if there is a more competitive offer elsewhere. There is also a variety of costs for each energy bill. These can vary between providers. On your bill, you might find a tariff that is the cost to provide power to your home, you might also find that you are on an economy tariff, or a time-of-use schedule.” There will be an advantage for different lifestyle circumstances.

Rebates to reduce the bill.
For NSW, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has capped rises earlier in the year at 20 – 21%. This meant that all providers could increase their prices, but there is still a competitive market which may result in a difference in your bill.
“It’s also wise to make sure that you chase down any rebates that might apply,” says Terese. “The NSW Government is providing a $500 bill rebate for eligible households.”
